Crocheted Shoes
We’ve been taking a look at crocheted fashion the past few weeks, from crocheted jewelry to celebrities in crochet. This week, let’s look at some crocheted shoes – some mass produced and some hand-made.
These shoes are hand-made, down to the hand-cut sole. The maker has many photos of these shoes in many colors and sizes on her website, and also sells the pattern.
If you don’t want to make an entire shoe from scratch, you can try attaching a pre-made doily to an old pair of shoes. Visit this site for a video tutorial.
Here’s another pattern you can try yourself! Available in the Summer 2012 issue of Interweave Crochet.
You can also use crochet to simply enhance shoes.
This tutorial shows you how to crochet over an existing pair of shoes. The site is in Russian, but most web browsers can translate the page for you.
These shoes are no longer available from Rocket Dog, but they have several other crocheted styles available.
Modcloth specializes in indie, vintage and retro fashion, including shoes, jewelry, and apparel.
