Easy Skill

Sizes: Teardrop Trivet- 5 ¾ inches wide, 9 inches long

Materials:Lily Double Quick:
Black - 2 skeins.
1 inch Plastic Rings - 1

Crochet Hook:Steel size 3 (2.10 mm).

Starching Instructions: Dissolve 2 heaped tbs Argo Gloss Starch in ½ cup cold water. Add to 1 quart warm water. Heat and boil briskly for a few minutes, stirring constantly. Add 2 cups cold water and cool. Dip crochet pieces in starch, squeezing the starch through it. Remove and squeeze out excess starch. Roll in paper towels and leave for an hour or two. Then rub off any excess starch with paper towel. Stretch and block piece as instructed.

Center(Make 2)
Rnd 1:(Right Side) Starting with center ring, ch 29, join with sl st to form ring; ch 2, hdc in next ch, (2 hdc in next ch, hdc in next 2 ch) 9 times, hdc in sl st, join with sl st in ch-2, sl st in next 2 hdc.
Rnd 2:Ch 27, keeping lp on hook, sl st in 6th st to right on Center; ch 1, sc in 1st ch, hdc in next 6 ch, (2 hdc in next ch, hdc in next 2 ch) 4 times, 2 hdc in next ch, hdc in next 6 ch, sc in next ch, sl st in same hdc at base of lp.  Finish off and weave in ends.

Join to 12th st up right side of lp and working around Center from left-to-right, * (ch 25, sl st in 4th st to right around Center, ch 1, sc in 1st ch, hdc in next 12 ch)* 3 times, ch 30, sl st in next 5th st on Center, ch 1, sc in 1st ch, hdc in 17th ch; ch 35, sl st in same st on Center,
ch 1, sc in 1st ch, hdc in next 17 ch; ch 25, sl st in next 5th st on Center, ch 1, sc in 1st ch, hdc in next 12 ch; repeat from * to * twice; ch 12, join to 12th st up side of 1st lp.
Rnd 3:Ch 1, working from right-to-left, * 2 sc in 1st ch of next sp, sc in next ch, 2 sc in next ch, hdc in next ch, keeping last lp of each dc on hook, dc in next 2 ch, yo, draw through all 3 lps on hook (cluster made), dc cluster in next 2 ch, hdc in next ch, 2 sc in next ch, sc in next ch, 2 sc in next ch, 2 sc across end of next bar *; rep from * to * 3 times; (continued at top of next column)

Rnd 4:Working in back loops, sc in 1st 3 sc on next sp, * hdc in next 3 sts, 2 hdc in next st, hdc in next 3 sts, sc in next 4 sts, sl st in next st **, sc in next 4 sc *; rep from * to * 3 times; hdc in next 8 sc, 5 hdc in next (center) st, hdc in next 8 sc, sc in next 3 sc, sl st in next sc, sc in next 4 sc; rep from * to * 3 times and then rep from * to ** once more. Finish off and weave in ends.

 - With both backs facing, sew together across both edges of all sections.

RING HANGER
Rnd 1:
(Right Side) Join with sl st to plastic ring, ch 1, 32 sc in ring; join with sl st to back loop of first sc.
Rnd 2:Sl st in back lp of each sc around; join. Finish off and weave in ends.

- Sew to top (tr) piece.

- Starch and block.
