Sunflower Fridgie - #FP455

Easy Skill

Size: Dependent on thread/yarn used.
Using Worsted Weight yarn and H-8 (5.00 mm) hook
- 5" across (point to point)
Using Size 3 thread and F-5 (3.75 mm) hook
    - 3 ½" across (point to point)

Materials: Yarn or thread of choice: Center Color, Petal Color

Crochet Hook: Dependent on thread/yarn used.
Suggestions:
    Size H-8 (5.00 mm) for Worsted Weight yarn;
    Size F-5 (3.75 mm) for Size 3 thread.

Abbreviations

beg - beginning  

rnd - round

ch  chain

sc - single crochet(s)

dc - double crochet

sl st(s) - slip stitch(es)

hdc - half double crochet

sp(s) - space(s)

lp(s) - loop(s)

st(s) - stitch(es)

rem - remaining

tr - treble crochet

rep - repeat

yo - yarn over

JOINING WITH SC
When instructed to join with sc, begin with sl knot on hook, insert hook in st or sp indicated, yo and pull up a loop, yo and draw through both loops on hook.

TO CHANGE COLORS
Work last stitch before color change to last step, with new color, yo hook, pull new color through remaining lps on hook. Drop unused color to wrong side. Do not work over unused color.    

 

FRIDGIE

Rnd 1: (Right Side) With Center Color, ch 2, 8 sc in 2nd ch from hook; join with sl st to first sc. (8 sc)

Rnd 2: Ch 1, sc in same st as joining, ch 1, [sc in next sc, ch 1] 7 times; join with sl st to first sc. (8 sc and 8 ch-1 sps).

Rnd 3: Sl st in next ch-1 sp, ch 1, sc in same sp, ch 2, [sc in next sp, ch 2] 7 times; join with sl st to first sc. (8 sc and 8 ch-2 sps). Finish off and weave in ends.

Rnd 4: With right side facing, join Petal Color with sl st to any sc; * ch 3, (2 tr, picot, 2 tr) in next ch-2 sp, ch 3, sl st in next sc; rep from * 7 times more. (8 petals) Finish off and weave in ends.
