Patons® Pooch was used for our model.
Crochet Hook: Size K-10 ½ (6.5 mm) or size needed to obtain gauge.
Gauge: 7 dc & 4 dc rnds = 4"

Special Stitches
Double Crochet Decrease (dc dec): Keeping last lp of each st on hook, dc in next 2 dc, yo and pull through all 3 lps on hook.
Tips on working with Pooch:
- Count your stitches after each rnd or row.
- If you have to take out stitches, pull yarn downward away from work.
Directions
Rnd 1 (right side): Ch 13, ch 3 (counts as first dc, now and throughout) 2 dc in 4th ch from hook, dc in next 11 ch, 6 dc in last ch; around other side, working in unused lps of starting ch, dc in next 11 lps, 3 dc in last lp; join with a sl st to first dc. (34 dc)
Rnd 2: Ch 3, turn, 2 dc in next 3 dc, dc in next 11 dc, 2 dc in next 6 dc, dc in next 11 dc, 2 dc in next 2 dc, dc in same st as Rnd 1 joining; join with a sl st to first dc. (46 dc)
Rnd 3: Ch 3, turn, dc in same st as joining, (dc in next dc, 2 dc in next dc) twice, dc in next 12 dc, (2 dc in next dc, dc in next dc) 6 times, dc in next 11 dc, (2 dc in next dc, dc in next dc) 3 times; join with a sl st to first dc. (58 dc)
Rnds 4-8: Ch 3, turn, dc in each dc around; join with a sl st to first dc. (58 dc) Do not finish off.
First Flap
Row 1: Ch 3, turn, dc in next 28 dc, leave rem dc unworked. (29 dc)
Row 2: Ch 3, turn, dc dec 14 times. (15 sts)
Rows 3-4: Ch 3, turn, dc in next st and in each st across. (15 dc) Finish off.
Second Flap
Row 1: With right side facing, join with a sl st to first unworked dc of Rnd 8, ch 3, dc in next 28 dc. (29 dc)
Rows 2-4: Rep Rows 2-4 of First Flap.
Finishing
Place a Handle on wrong side of either Purse Flap. Pull Flap through opening. Using scrap of Worsted Weight Yarn, sew Flap Row 4 to Row 2. Repeat for other Flap. Weave in ends.
