Luna Moth Shawl

Intermediate

Finished size: Depth in center: 32” (81cm), length along top edge: 64” (163cm).

Materials:

Premier Yarns® Deborah Norville Collection Alpaca Dance™, requires two balls in color 0016 Silver Fog;
US Size H-8 (5mm) or size to obtain gauge;
Tapestry needle.

GAUGE Rows 1-5 = 4” Save time, check your gauge.

Special Stitches:

Bpdc (back post double crochet): Yo, insert hook around next st from back to front to back and pull up a lp, [yo and pull through 2 lps on hook] twice.

Fpdc (front post double crochet): Yo, insert hook around next st from front to back to front and pull up a lp, [yo and pull through 2 lps on hook] twice.

Xfpdc (crossed front post double crochet): Sk 1 dc, fpdc around next dc, fpdc around sk dc. Sk the sts behind the post sts.

SHAWL

Row 1: Beg at center top, ch 4, 11 dc in fourth ch from hook; turn (12 dc, counting beg ch-3 as a dc).

Row 2 (RS): Ch 3, sk first dc, * Xfpdc over next 2 dc, ch 2; rep from * 4 more times, dc in last st; turn.

Row 3: Ch 3, bpdc around each of next 2 post sts, ch 2, * dc in next ch-2 sp, ch 2, bpdc around each of next 2 sts, ch 2; rep from * 4 more times, dc in last st; turn.

Row 4: Ch 3, Xfpdc over next 2 post sts, * ch 2, [dc in next ch-2 sp, ch 2] twice, Xfpdc over next 2 post sts; rep from * across, dc in last st; turn.
Row 5: Ch 3, bpdc around each of next 2 post sts, ch 2, * [dc in next ch-2 sp, ch 2] across to next 2 post sts, bpdc around each of next 2 post sts, ch 2; rep from * across, dc in last st; turn.
Row 6: Ch 3, Xfpdc over next 2 post sts, * ch 2, [dc in next ch-2 sp, ch 2] across to next 2 post sts, Xfpdc over next 2 post sts; rep from * across, dc in last st; turn.
Rows 7-39: Rep Rows 5 and 6, 16 times; rep Row 5 once more.
Row 40: Ch 3, Xfpdc over next 2 post sts, * ([ch 2, dc] twice) in each sp across to next 2 post sts, ch 2, Xfpdc over next 2 post sts; rep from * across, dc in last st; turn.
Row 41: Ch 1, hdc in each st and 2 hdc in each sp across; fasten off.
