Easter Egg Dishcloth

Size: About 7½” wide and 9″ long
Materials: Worsted Weight Cotton Yarn: 

White – 2.5 oz, 120 yds (71 g, 109 m) Multicolor – 1 oz – 55 yds (28 g, 50 m)





Crochet Hook:
 Size H-8 (5.00 mm) or size needed to obtain gauge.
Gauge: 6 sts = 2″

JOINING WITH SC
When instructed to join with sc, begin with sl knot on hook, insert hook in st or sp indicated, yo and pull up a loop, yo and draw through both loops on hook.

Special Stitches
Single crochet decrease (sc dec): Insert hook in next stitch, yo, pull up a loop, (two loops on hook), insert hook in next stitch, yo, pull up a loop, yarn over and draw through all three loops on hook.
Half Double Crochet Decrease (hdc dec): Keeping last loop of each st on hook, hdc in next 2 sts, yo and pull through 3 loops on hook.

DISHCLOTH
Row 1: (Right Side) With White, ch 11, sc in 2nd ch from hook, [sc in next ch] across. (9 sc)
Row 2: Ch 1, turn, 2 sc in first sc, [sc in next sc] across to last sc, 2 sc in last sc. (11 sc)
Row 3: Ch 1, turn, 2 hdc in first sc, [hdc in next sc] across to last sc, 2 hdc in last sc. (13 hdc)
Rows 4-7: Ch 1, turn, 2 hdc in first hdc, [hdc in next hdc] across to last hdc, 2 hdc in last hdc. (15, 17, 19, 21 hdc)
At the end of Row 7, finish off and weave in ends.
Row 8: With right side facing, join Multicolor with sl st to first hdc, ch 5 (counts as first dc and ch 2), skip next hdc, dc in next hdc, [ch 2, skip next hdc, dc in next hdc] across. (11 dc and 10 ch-2 sps) Finish off and weave in ends.
Row 9: With right side facing, join White with sc to first dc, * working behind ch-2 lp, dc in skipped hdc(on Row 7), sc in next dc (on Row 8 ); rep from * across. (11 sc and 10 dc)
Rows 10-11: Ch 1, turn, hdc in each st across. (21 hdc)
Rows 12-15: Rep Rows 8-11 once.
Rows 16-17: Rep Rows 8-9 once.
Row 18: Ch 1, turn, hdc in each st across. (21 hdc)
Row 19: Ch 1, turn, hdc dec (over first 2 hdc), hdc in next 8 hdc, hdc dec, hdc in next 7 hdc, hdc dec. (18 hdc)
Row 20: Ch 1, turn, hdc dec (over first 2 hdc), hdc in next 6 hdc, hdc dec, hdc in next 6 hdc, hdc dec. (15 hdc)
Row 21: Ch 1, turn, hdc dec (over first 2 hdc), hdc in next 5 hdc, hdc dec, hdc in next 4 hdc, hdc dec. (12 hdc)
Row 22: Ch 1, turn, hdc dec (over first 2 hdc), hdc in next 3 hdc, hdc dec, hdc in next 3 hdc, hdc dec. (9 hdc)
Row 23: Ch 1, turn, hdc dec (over first 2 hdc), hdc in next 2 hdc, hdc dec, hdc in next hdc, hdc dec. (6 hdc)
Row 24: Ch 1, turn, sc dec (over first 2 hdc), sc in next 2 hdc, sc dec. (4 sc) DO NOT FINISH OFF.

EdgingRnd 1: Ch 1, turn (right side facing), evenly sc around; join with sl st to first sc. Finish off and weave in ends.
