Premier® Yarns Suede Circles (87% polyester, 13% polyamide; 50gm/70 yds)

#39-09 Oceanic (MC) – 1 ball
#39-04 River’s Edge (CC1) – 1 ball
#39-10 Eggplant (CC2) – 1 ball

Hook: US Size G (4.00 mm) or size needed to obtain gauge

Notions: Tapestry needle

Crab Stitch (Reverse Single Crochet): Working from left to right, * insert hk in next st to the right, yo and draw up a loop, yo and draw through 2 lps on hk; rep from * around.

With MC, ch 4, join with a sl st to form a ring.

Rnd 1: Ch 3 (counts as dc throughout), 9 dc in ring – 10 dc.

Rnd 2: Ch 3, dc in same sp, 2 dc in each dc, join with sl st in top of beg ch-3 – 20 dc.

Rnd 3: Ch 3, dc in same sp, *dc in next dc, 2 dc in next dc; rep from * 8 more times, dc in last dc, join with sl st in top of beg ch-3 – 30 dc.

Rnd 4: Ch 3, dc in same sp, *dc in next 2 dc, 2 dc in next dc; rep from * 8 more times, dc in last 2 dc, join with sl st in top of beg ch-3 – 40 dc.

Rnd 5: Ch 3, 2 dc in same sp, *dc in next 3 dc, 2 dc in next dc; rep from * 3 more times, dc in next 3 dc, 3dc in next dc, **dc in next 3 dc, 2dc in next dc; rep from ** 3 more times, dc in next 3 dc, join with sl st in top of beg ch-3 – 52 dc.

Band

Rnd 10: Chg to CC2, ch 3, dc in same sp, dc in each dc around, join with sl st to top of beg ch-3.

Rnd 12 – 13: Rep Rnd 12.

Brim

Rnd 16: Working in front lps only, ch 3, dc in same st, dc in next 2 dc, *2 dc in next dc, dc in next 2 dc; rep from * around.

Rnd 17: Rep Rnd 12.

Rnd 18: Ch 3, dc in same st, *dc in next 5 dc, 2 dc in next dc, rep from * around, join in top of beg ch 3.

Rnd 19: Chg to MC, ch 3, dc in same st, *dc in next 4 dc, dc2tog; rep from * around, join with sl st to top of beg ch-3.

Rnd 20: Crab Stitch around Brim of Hat. Finish off.

Weave in ends. Shape hat over a bowl measuring the right size and spray with spray starch for a crisper finish.
