Halloween Cauldron

Size:About 1½" high and 2" wide at top.

 

Materials:Crochet Cotton Thread Size 10 - Black;

Fluffy Stuffing.

 

Crochet Hook:Steel crochet hook # 7

Gauge: 8 sc and 8 rnds = 1 inch.

 

Abbreviations

beg - beginning
ch - chain
CC - contrasting color
dc - double crochet
hdc - half double crochet
lp - loop
MC - main color
rem - remaining
rep - repeat
rnd - round
sc - single crochet
sl st - slip stitch
sp - space
st - stitch
tr - treble crochet
yo - yarn over

JOINING WITH SC

When instructed to join with sc, begin with sl knot on hook, insert hook in st or sp indicated, yo and pull up a loop, yo and draw through both loops on hook.

 

CAULDRON

Rnd 1:With Black, ch 2, work 6 sc in first ch (6 sc). Do not join, mark ends of each rnd.

Rnd 2:Work 2 sc in each scaround. (12 sc).

Rnd 3:(Sc in next sc, 2 sc in next sc) around. (18 sc)

Rnd 4:(Sc in next 2sc, 2 sc in next sc) around. (24 sc)

Rnd 5: (Sc in next 3 sc, 2 sc in next sc) around. (30 sc)

Rnd 6:(Sc in next 4 sc, 2 sc in next sc) around. (36 sc).

Rnd 7:(Legs) * 5dc in next st, drop lp from hook, insert hook in first dc, pick up dropped lp, pull through first dc, ch 1, sc in next 8 sts; rep from * around.

(4 Legs made)

Rnd 8:Sc in ea st and ch around.

Rnd 9:Inc 8sts evenly spaced around. (48sts)

Rnds 10-13:Sc around.

Rnd 14:Decreasing 6 sts evenly spaced, sc around.

Rnd 15:Sc around.

Rnd 16:Rep Rnd 14.

Rnd 17:Rep Rnd 15.

Rnd 18:*Sc in next st, 2 sc in next st; rep from * around.

Rnds 19-20:Sc around.

At end of Rnd 20, finish off and weave in ends.

Put stuffing in Cauldron.
