JOINING WITH SC
When instructed to join with sc, begin with sl knot on hook, insert hook in st or sp indicated, yo and pull up a loop, yo and draw through both loops on hook.

TO CHANGE COLORS
Work last stitch before color change to last step, with new color yo and pull new color through remaining loops on hook. Drop unused color to wrong side. Do not work over unused color.

Special Stitches

Double Crochet Decrease (dc dec): Keeping last loop of each st on hook, dc in next 2 sts, yo and pull through 3 loops on hook.

Single Crochet Decrease: (sc dec):Draw up a lp in each of next 2 sts, yo and draw through 3 lps on hook.

Row 3:Ch 3, turn, dc in first dc, (dc in next dc) across. (63 dc)
Row 4:Ch 3, turn, (dc in next dc) across to last 2 dc, 2 dc in last 2 dc. (65 dc)
Rows 5-6:Rep Rows 3-4. (66 dc, 68 dc)
Row 7:Ch 3, turn, dc in first dc, dc in next 43 dc. (45 dc) Leave remaining sts unworked.
