Holly Wreath Potholder

Size: Approx 9" round

Materials: Worsted Weight Yarn:
2 oz white, small amounts of green,
10 - 10mm red beads, or 10 mm PomPoms,
Hot Glue.

Crochet Hook: Size H-8 (5.5 mm) or size needed to obtain gauge.

Gauge: 3 dc rows = 2"

Special Stitches

Picot – ch 4, sl st in 4th ch from hook

Circle:(Make 2). 

Ch 4, join with a sl st to form ring

Rnd 1:Ch 3 (counts as dc now and throughout), 11 dc in ring. Join with sl st to top of ch 3. (12 dc)
Rnd 2: Ch 3, dc in same st as joining, 2 dc in each dc around; join with sl st to top of ch 3 (24 dc).
Rnd 3:Ch 3, 2 dc in next dc, (dc in next dc, 2 dc in next dc) around; join with sl st  to top of ch 3 (36 dc).
Rnd 4:Ch 3, dc in next dc, 2 dc in next dc, (dc in next     2 dc, 2 dc in next dc) around; join with sl st to top of ch 3.  (48 dc)
Rnd 5:Ch 3, dc in next 2 dc, 2 dc in next dc, (dc in next  3 dc, 2 dc in next dc) around; join with sl st to top of ch 3. (60 dc).
Rnd 6:Ch 3, dc in next 3 dc, 2 dc in next dc, (dc in next  4 dc, 2 dc in next dc) around; join with sl st to top of ch 3. (72 dc)

For First Circle, finish off after Rnd 6.  For second circle, do not finish off after Rnd 6, ch 15 for hanger.

Edging Rnd:With right sides facing (wrong sides together), working through both sides at the same time, sc in joining st, picot, ch 1, * skip one dc, sc in next dc, picot, ch 1, rep from * around.  Join with sl st to first sc.  Finish off and weave in ends.

Holly Leaves:(Make 5)

* Ch 1, (picot) 4 times, sl st in same ch as 2nd picot, picot, sl st in same ch as 1st picot, sl st in first ch. Rep from * once more. Finish off, leaving a long end for sewing.

Finishing:
- Using Picture as a guide, arrange and sew or glue holly leaves around potholder.
- Glue or sew 2-3 red beads or pom-poms to the center of each holly leaf.
