White (MC) - 14 oz, 924 yds

     (400 grams, 740 meters)
Gold (A) - 1 oz, 66 yds

     (28 grams, 53 meters)
Red (B) & Green (C) - 7 oz, 463 yds each

     (200 grams, 370 meters)
Yarn Needle
Crochet Hook:  Size I-9 (5.5 mm) or size needed to obtain gauge. 

Gauge:Each Block = 8" square

Special Stitches

Double Treble Crochet (dtr): Yo 3 times, pull up a lp in st or sp indicated, (yo, pull through 2 lps) 4 times.

Picot: Ch 5, sl st in 5th ch from hook.

JOINING WITH SC
When instructed to join with sc, begin with a sl knot on hook, insert hook in st or sp indicated, yo and pull up a loop, yo and draw through both loops on hook. 

Block A (Make 24)
Rnd 1 (right side):With A, ch 2, 8 sc in 2nd ch from hook; join with a sl st to first sc. (8 sc) Finish off.
Rnd 2: With right side facing, join B with a sl st in any sc, * (ch 4, dtr, ch 3, sl st in 3rd ch from hook, ch 4, sl st) in same sc, sl st in next sc, rep from * around (8 petals) Finish off.
Rnd 3:With right side facing, working behind petals, join C in with a sl st in any space between 2 petals, * picot 4 times, sl st in base of 2nd picot made, picot, sl st in base of first picot made, sl st in same space between petals, (ch 6, skip next sp between petals, sl st in next space between 2 petals) twice (Leaf made), rep from * once more (2 leaves and 4 ch-6 sps). Finish off.
Rnd 4: With right side facing, join MC in any ch-6 sp, ch 5 (counts as first dc, ch 2, now and throughout), working behind petals and leaves, 4 dc in same sp, (4 dc, ch 2, 4 dc) in next 3 ch-6 sps, 3 dc in same sp as first dc; join with a sl st to first dc. (32 dc and 4 ch-2 sps)
Rnd 5:Sl st in next ch-2 sp, ch 5, 2 dc in same sp, * dc in next 2 dc, ** working through 2 thicknesses, dc in dtr of next corresponding petal and in next dc of current rnd, dc in next 2 dc, rep from ** once more, (2 dc, ch 2, 2 dc) in next corner ch-2 space, rep from * 3 times more, omitting last corner of last rep, dc in same sp as first dc; join with a sl st to first dc. (48 dc)
Rnd 6:Sl st in ch-2 sp, ch 6 (counts as first dc, ch 3), dc in same sp, ch 1, skip next dc, * (dc in next dc, ch 1, skip next dc) twice, dc in next dc, rep to 3 times, (dc, ch 3, dc, ch 1) in next corner ch-2 sp, skip next dc, rep from * 3 times more, omitting last corner of last rep; join with a sl st to first dc. (32 dc)
Rnd 7:Sl st in next ch-2 sp, ch 5, 2 dc in same sp, * dc in each dc and ch-1 sp across, (2 dc, ch 2, 2 dc) in next corner ch-2 space, rep from * 3 times more, omitting last corner of last rep, dc in same sp as first dc; join with a sl st to first dc. (84 dc) Finish off.
Rnd 8:With right side facing, join C with a sc in any corner ch-2 space, 2 sc in same sp, sc in each dc across, * 3 sc in next corner ch-2 space, sc in each dc across, rep from * around; join with a sl st to first sc. (84 sc) Finish off leaving long end.

Block B (Make 24)
Rnd 1:With MC, ch 4, sl st in first ch to form a ring; ch 5, (4 dc in ring, ch 2) twice, 3 dc in ring; join with a sl st to first dc. (16 dc) JOIN ALL RNDS IN THIS MANNER.
Rnds 2-3: Sl st in ch-2 sp, ch 5, dc in same sp, dc in each dc across to next ch-2 corner, * (2 dc, ch 2, 2 dc) in corner sp, dc in each dc across to next corner ch-2 sp, rep from * 3 times more, dc in same sp as first dc; join.

At the end of Rnd 3 there will be 48 dc.

Rnds 4-6:Rep Rnds 6-8 of Block A.

Assembly
Using long ends and Yarn Needle, sew Blocks together 6 wide x 8 long, alternating Blocks A and B.  Position Blocks A so the Leaves point toward the long edges of the Afghan. 

Border
Rnd 1: With right side facing, join C with a sc in center sc of any corner 3-sc group, 2 sc in same sc, sc evenly across to next corner working an odd number of sts, * 3 sc in center sc of next corner 3-sc group, sc evenly across to next corner working an odd number of sts, rep from * twice more; join with a sl st to first sc. Finish off.
Rnd 2: With right side facing, join B with a sc in center sc of any corner 3-sc group, ch 3, sc in same sc, ch 3, (skip next sc, sc in next sc, ch 3) across to next corner, * (sc, ch 3) twice in center sc of next corner sc group, (skip next sc, sc in next sc, ch 3) across to next corner, rep from * twice more; join with a sl st to first sc. Finish off and weave in ends.
