Forget-Me-Not Towel Topper

Intermediate Skill

Size: 5 ½" square.

Materials:Plastic canvas square, 34 grids x 34 grids;

Strip of 7 mesh plastic canvas,  

6 mesh wide x 34 mesh long;

Dish Towel; Yarn Needle;

Worsted Weight Yarn;
White (W) - 1 oz, 55 yd (28 g, 50 m);
Blue (B) - 1 oz, 55 yd (28 g, 50 m);
Small amount Yellow (Y). 

Crochet Hook: Size H-8 (5.00 mm) or size needed to obtain gauge.

Gauge: 7 sc and 8 rows = 2".

JOINING WITH SC
When instructed to join with sc, begin with sl knot on hook, insert hook in st or sp indicated, yo and pull up a loop, yo and draw through both loops on hook.

Work last stitch before color change to last step, with new color yo and pull new color through remaining loops on hook. Drop unused color to wrong side. Do not work over unused color.

Flower
Row 1
(Right Side):With W, ch 18, sc in 2nd ch from hook and in each ch across. (17 sc)  CH 1, TURN EACH ROW.
Rows 2-3: Sc in each sc across.
Row 4: Sc in next 5 sc, drop W, change to B; with B, sc in next 5 sc, drop B, change to W; with W, sc in each sc across.
Rows 5-18:Following graph (see next page) for color changes, sc in each sc across, dropping unused color to wrong side.

At the end of Row 18 finish off leaving long end. 

First Tie
Sl st in first ch-3 sp, ch 75, finish off. 

Second Tie
Join B in opposite corner ch-3 sp, ch 75, finish off.

Finishing USE PHOTO AS A GUIDE
- Sew short ends of plastic canvas strip to plastic canvas square at sides only (wrong side).
- With wrong side of Flower against right side of plastic canvas square, using long end from Row 18, sew outer edge of Flower to edge of square.
- Fold towel over strip on back.
