Cell Phone Purse

Beginner Skill

Size: About 3" wide, 4½" long (without fringe).

Materials: Worsted Weight Yarn:
Blue - 20 yds
White - 10 yds
Green - 10 yds
Light Blue - 10 yds

Crochet Hook:Size H-8 (5.00 mm) or size needed to obtain gauge.

Gauge:7 sc = 2"; 8 rows sc = 2"

JOINING WITH SC
When instructed to join with sc, begin with sl knot on hook, insert hook in st or sp indicated, yo and pull up a loop, yo and draw through both loops on hook.

PURSE
Row 1:
(Right Side) Starting at long edge, with Blue, leave a 6" tail, ch 23, sc in 2nd ch from hook, (sc in next ch) across. (22 sc) Leave a 6" tail and cut yarn.

Row 2:With wrong side facing, leave a 6" tail, join Light Blue with sc to first sc, (sc in next sc) across. (22 sc)

Row 3:Ch 1, turn, sc in each sc across. Leave a 6" tail and cut yarn.

Rows 4-5:With Green, rep Rows 2-3.

Rows 6-7:With White, rep Rows 2-3.

Rows 8-9:With Blue, rep Rows 2-3.

Row 10:With wrong side facing, leave a 6" tail, join Light Blue with sc to first sc, sc in next 11 sc. (12 sc) Leave remaining sts unworked.

Row 11:Ch 1, turn, sc in each sc across. Leave a 6" tail and cut yarn.

Rows 12-13:With Green, rep Rows 10-11.

Rows 14-15:With White, rep Rows 10-11.

Rows 16-17:With Blue, rep Rows 10-11.

Rows 18-19:With Green, rep Rows 10-11.

Rows 20-21:With White, rep Rows 10-11.

Finishing - use photo as guide.
- With right sides facing, fold across Row 10 and sew Row 21 to starting ch, matching stitches.
- Using a tails from the front and a tail from the back, tie knots across bottom of purse, closing the opening.
- Trim the fringe.

Strap
Row 1:
With right side facing, join Blue with sl st to side of Row 10, ch 100, sl st in each ch across, sl st in side of Row 10. Finish off and weave in ends.

- Sew other side of strap to side of Row 21.
