A coordinating afghan completes the set for a precious ensemble that will bring tears to your eyes. Maggie takes antique stitch patterns and adapts them for today's best crochet thread to create the detailed patterns in this set. Crocheting a christening set makes heirloom pieces that you can pass on for many generations. You won't regret making this sweet gown and accompaniments, and start the tradition of having a special gown for all the newborns in your family. This was my first project using crochet thread. I truly wanted to make my first granddaughter's Christening memorable. I fell in love with this pattern and decided to throw caution to the wind. I only made the dress and bonnet and they came out beautiful! The pattern is well written and the stitches not as complex as I feared. When I did stumble I emailed the web site and received a response fairly quickly. Photos of this gown do not do it justice. It is more beautiful in person. Guests at the Christening could not believe how pretty it was.

I purchased this pattern and crocheted this beautiful gown and bonnet for my very first Grandchild last month. I gave it to my daughter-in-law at her baby shower. She couldn't believe I made something so beautiful! I couldn't either!! Maggie, the instructions were easy to follow and the yarn you suggested in the video was Perfect!! This was only my second dress to crochet and I finished it in a matter of a couple of weeks (working evenings only). Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!

I bought this pattern from Anne's Attic about 4 or 5 years ago. My sister's daughter was having her 1st child and it was a girl so I made it for her. It was absolutely beautiful and they loved it. the only thing wromg was the hat was too small but not by much. It was crochet to tight my fault. I was going to buy another kit like it but couldn't fine it than so I made a different one for my 1st great-grand-daughter.
