White Mason Jar Cover

Easy Skill

Size: To fit standard pint-size Mason or Ball jar.

 

Materials: Premier® Yarns – Home™ Cotton and Macra-Made used in model.

Worsted Weight Yarn :

For each Cover:

White – 1oz, 50yds (28g, 45m) 

 

Super Bulky Weight Yarn :

Papaya Macra-Made – 24" long (for drawstring).

 

Abbreviations

beg - beginning

ch - chain

dc - double crochet

lp(s) - loop(s)

rem - remaining

rep - repeat

rnd - round

sc - single crochet(s)

sp(s) - space(s)

slst(s) - slip stitch(es)

st(s) - stitch(es)

yo - yarn over

 

Additional Materials: Yarn Needle.

One pint Mason or Ball jar.

 

Crochet Hook: Size I-9 (5.50 mm) or size needed to obtain gauge.

 

Gauge: Rnds 1-2 = 3".

 

JAR COVER

Rnd 1: (Right Side) Starting at base, ch4, slst in first ch to form ring; ch1, 12dc in ring; join with slst to first dc. (12dc)

Rnd 2: Ch1, [2dc in next dc] around; join as before. (24dc)

Rnd 3: Ch3 (counts as first dc, now and throughout), (2dc, ch1, 3dc) in same st as joining, skip next 2 dc, [(3dc, ch1, 3dc) in next dc, skip next 2 dc] around; join with slst to first dc (3rd ch of ch-3). (36dc & 6ch-1sps)

Rnds 4-6: Slst in each of next 2 dc, slst in next ch-1sp, ch3, (2dc, ch1, 3dc) in same sp, [(3dc, ch1, 3dc) in next ch-1sp] around; join as before. (36dc & 6ch-1sps)

Rnd 7: Slst in next dc, ch1, sc in same dc, [ch1, skip next dc, sc in next ch-1sp, ch1, skip next dc, sc in next dc, ch1, skip next 2 dc, sc in next dc] around, omitting last sc on final repeat; join with slst to first sc. (18sc & 18ch-2sps)

Rnd 8: Slst in first ch-1sp, ch3, (2dc, ch1, 3dc) in same sp, slst in next ch-1sp, [(3dc, ch1, 3dc) in next ch-1sp, slst in next ch-1sp] around; join with slst to first dc. (54dc, 9slsts & 9 ch-1sps) Finish off and weave in ends.

 

Weave drawstring through Rnd 7. Insert jar in cover and tie with bow.
