Size: 10" wide x 12" tall, including handle.

Materials: Super Bulky Weight Yarn

Ruby – 5 oz, 95 yds

            (140 grams, 76 meters)

2 yd scrap of Worsted Weight Yarn

2 Black Purse Handles – 7 ¼" Black

¾ yd x ¾" wide Black Grosgrain Ribbon

Patons® Voodoo was used for our model.

Crochet Hook:  Size N-13 (9 mm) or size needed to obtain gauge.

Gauge: 8 dc and 4 dc rnds = 4"

Special Stitches

Double Crochet Decrease (dc dec): Keeping last lp of each st on hook, dc in next 2 dc, yo and pull through all 3 lps on hook.

Tip on working with Voodoo:

- Count your stitches after each rnd or row.

Directions
Rnd 1
(right side): Ch 17, ch 3 (counts as first dc, now and throughout), 2 dc in 4th ch from hook, dc in next 15 ch, 6 dc in last ch; working in unused lps of starting ch, dc in next 15 lps, 3 dc in next lp; join with a sl st to first dc. (42 dc)
Rnds 2-8: Ch 3, turn, dc in each dc around; join with a sl st to first dc. (42 dc) Do not finish off.

First Flap
Row 1:
Ch 3, turn, dc in next 20 dc. (21 dc)
Rows 2-3: Ch 3, turn, dc dec, dc across to last 3 dc, dc dec, dc in last dc. (19, 17 dc)
Row 4: Ch 3, turn, dc in next dc and in each dc across. (17 dc) Finish off.

Second Flap
Row 1:
With right side facing, join with a sl st to first unworked dc of Rnd 8, ch 3, dc in next 20 dc. (21 dc)
Rows 2-4: Rep Rows 2-4 of First Flap.

Finishing
Place a Handle on wrong side of either Purse Flap.  Fold Flap over Handle.  Using a scrap of Worsted Weight Yarn, sew Flap Row 4 to Row 2. Repeat for other Flap. Weave in ends.
