Valentine Trivet and Coaster Set
Surprise your loved one with this decorative trivet and coaster set. They are quick and easy to make with worsted weight yarn.
Easy Skill
Size: Coaster – 6 ½" in diameter
Trivet – 8 ½" in diameter
Materials: Worsted Weight Yarn
Red (MC) - 1 oz, 66 yds (28 grams, 60 meters)
White (CC) - 12 yds (11 meters)
Yarn Needle.
Crochet Hook: Size H-8 (5 mm) or size needed to obtain gauge.
Gauge: Rnds 1-2 = 3" in diameter
Abbreviations
Trivet
Rnd 1 (right side): With MC, ch 3, sl st in first ch to form a ring, ch 4 (counts as first dc, ch 1), (dc, ch 2, dc, ch 1) twice in ring, dc in ring, ch 2; join with a sl st to first dc. (6 dc)
Rnd 2: Ch 5 (counts as first dc, ch 2, now and throughout), turn, skip next ch-2 sp, * 3 dc in next dc, dc in next ch-1 sp, 3 dc in next dc, ch 2, skip next ch-2 sp, rep from * once more, 3 dc in next dc, dc in next ch-1 sp, 2 dc in same dc as joining; join with a sl st to first dc. (21 dc)
Rnd 3: Ch 3 (counts as first dc), turn, 2 dc in same st as joining, dc in next 5 dc, 3 dc in next dc, ch 2, skip next ch-2 sp, * 3 dc in next dc, dc in next 5 dc, 3 dc in next dc, ch 2, skip next ch-2 sp, rep from * once more; join with a sl st to first dc. (33 dc)

Rnd 5: Turn, * skip next 3 dc, [(tr, ch 1) 7 times, tr] in next dc, skip next 3 dc, sl st in next ch-2 sp, rep from * around. (48 tr and 42 ch-1 sps) Finish off.
