Trellis Stitch (multiple of 6 ch + 4)

Row 1 (RS): Dc in 4th ch from hook (skipped ch count as first dc), *ch 5, skip next 5 ch (sc, ch 5, sc) in next ch; rep from * across to within last 6 ch, ch 5, skip next 5 ch, dc in last ch.

Row 2: Ch 3 (counts as first dc, now and throughout), turn, dc in first dc, *ch 5, skip next 5 ch, (sc, ch 5, sc) in next ch-5 loop; rep from *across, ending, ch 5, skip next 5 ch, skip next dc, dc in last dc (3rd ch of turning ch).

Picot Edging

Rnd 1: Ch 3, turn, 3 dc in first dc (half of first corner), [work 6 dc in next ch-5 sp, dc in next sc] across to last ch-5 sp, 5 dc in last ch-5 sp, dc in next dc, 7 dc in last dc (3rd ch of turning ch) (corner), *working in sides of rows, [2 dc in next row, 3 dc in next row] across to corner*, working on other side of starting ch, 7 dc in first ch (corner), 6 dc over ch-5 sp, dc in next ch] across to last ch-5 sp, 5 dc in last ch-5 sp, dc in next ch, 7 dc in last ch (corner); rep from * to * once, 3 dc in same first dc (finish corner); join with sl st to first dc (3rd ch of ch-3).  (560 dc – 41 dc on short sides and 225 on long sides, between 7-dc corners).
