Hook: US Size L-11 (8 mm) crochet hook or size to obtain gauge

GAUGE
Snowball = 2½" wide and 2 1/2 " high. ½

PATTERN NOTES
To change colors: Work st until 2 loops rem on hook, drop working color and with new color, yo and pull through 2 loops on hook. Continue with new color.

Brim
With MC, ch 57.
Row 1: Sc in 2nd ch from hook and in next ch, * sk 3 ch, 7 dc in next ch, sk next 3 ch, sc in each of the next 3 ch; rep from * to last 4 ch, sk next 3 ch, 4 dc in last ch, changing to CC in last st, turn.
Row 2: With CC, ch 1, sc in each of the next 2 sts, * ch 3, 7-dc cl over next 7 sts, ch 3, sc in each of next 3 sts; rep from * to last 4 sts, ch 3, 4-dc cl over next 4 sts, turn.
Row 3: Ch 3, 3 dc in 1st st, * sk ch-3 sp, sc in each of next 3 sc, sk ch-3 sp, 7 dc in top of cl; rep from *across, ending with sk ch-3 sp, sc in each of last 2 sc, changing to MC in last st, turn.
Row 4: Ch 3, sk 1st st, 3-dc cl over next 3 sts, * ch 3, sc in each of next 3 sts, ch 3, 7-dc cl over next 7 sts; rep from * ending with 7-dc cl, ch 3, sc in turning ch.
Fasten off.
With MC and tapestry needle, sew sides tog to form circle.
CROWN
With MC, join with a sl st to any ch used by a cl-st.
Rnd 1: Ch 3 (counts as dc throughout), 2 dc in cl, [3 dc in each ch-3 sp, dc in each sc, 3 dc in ch-3 sp,
3 dc top of each cl] around, sl st in 3rd ch of beg ch-3 to join.
Rnd 2: Ch 3, dc in each dc around, sl st in 3rd ch of beg ch-3 to join.
Rnd 3: Ch 3, *dc2tog, dc in next st; rep from * around, sl st in 3rd ch of beg ch-3 to join.
Rnd 4: Ch 3, *dc in next 2 dc, dc2tog; rep from * around, sl st in 3rd ch of beg ch-3 to join.
Rnd 5: Ch 3, dc in each dc around, sl st in 3rd ch of beg ch-3 to join.
Rnd 6: Ch 3, *dc2tog, dc in next dc; rep from * around, sl st in 3rd ch of beg ch-3 to join.
Rnd 7: Ch 3, dc2tog around, sl st in 3rd ch of beg ch-3 to join.
Fasten off.
FINISHING
Cut yarn, leaving a 12" tail for gathering Crown. Run yarn through the rem loops and draw tightly closing Crown.
Weave in ends.
Attach Faux Fur Pom Pom to top of Crown.
