Small Easter Basket

Beginner Skill Level

Materials: Cuddle Fleece Yarn

Crochet Hook: Size H (5mm)

Worked in the round.

Ch 2, 8 sc in second chain from hook. Place marker for beginning of round.

2^nd round: 2 sc in each sc around (16 stitches)

3^rd round: [2 sc in next sc, 1 sc in next sc] repeat 7 more times

4^th round: working through back loop, sc in each sc around (24 stitches)

5^th – 7^th rounds: sc in each sc around (24 stitches)

8^th round: [sc 4, sc dec] repeat 3 more times (20 stitches)

9^th round: [ch 5, slip stitch in next sc], repeat 19 more times, ending with slip stitch in 1st slip stitch of round.

You will have 20 ch 5 loops on your basket.

Handle: Chain 20 LOOSELY. Looking at the inside of basket, count 10 loops. Join handle chain on opposite side of basket, between loops 10 and 11, by inserting hook from wrong side to right side, YO and pull through loop on hook to attach handle.

Chain 1, work sc back across handle, working THROUGH THE BACK BAR OF EACH CHAIN. This is why we chained LOOSELY. This will give the handle a finished chain look on both sides, and also provides stability. End with slip stitch in 1st stitch of handle. Finish off. Weave in ends.
