STITCH GUIDE

Edge Scallop: Ch 1, do not turn, working along the Edge, [tr, ch 1] 5 times in sp between 2nd and 3rd rows, sl st at base of dc beside last scallop made, turn, [ch 3, sl st in next ch-1 sp] 6 times, sl st in last dc worked on current row.

Dc2tog: [Yarn over hook, insert hook in next st and pull up loop, yarn over, pull through 2 lps on hook] twice (3 loops on hook), yarn over, pull through all 3 loops on hook.

Increase Section

Row 1 (RS): Ch 4,2 dc in 4th ch from hook (skipped ch count as first dc) – 3 dc.

Row 2: Ch 3, turn, dc in next dc, 2 dc in last dc – 4 dc.

Row 3: Ch 3, turn, [dc in next dc] across.

Row 4: Ch 3, turn, [dc in next dc] across to last dc, 2 dc in last dc, ch 1, do not turn, working along the Edge, [tr, ch 1] 5 times in sp between Row 3 and Row 2, sl st in base ch of Row 1, turn, [ch 3, sl st in next ch-1 sp] 6 times, sl st in last dc.

Row 5: Ch 3, turn, [dc in next dc] across.

Row 6: Ch 3, turn, [dc in next dc] across to last dc, 2 dc in last dc.

Row 7: Ch 3, turn, [dc in next dc] across.

Row 8: Ch 3, turn, [dc in next dc] across to last dc, 2 dc in last dc, work Edge Scallop.

Rep Rows 5-8, 15 more times. At the end of Row 68, there are 37 dc and 17 scallops along the edge.

 

Center Section

Rep Rows 69-72, 3 more times. At the end of Row 84, there are 37 dc and 21 scallops along the edge.

 

Decrease Section

Row 85: Ch 3, turn, [dc in next dc] across.

Row 86: Ch 3, turn, [dc in next dc] across to last 2 dc, dc2tog – 36 dc.

Row 87: Ch 3, turn, [dc in next dc] across.

Row 88: Ch 3, turn, [dc in next dc] across to last 2 dc, dc2tog, work Edge Scallop.

Rep Rows 85-88 until 3 sts rem – 152 rows and 38 Edge Scallops have been worked. Do not fasten off.

 

Top Edging Row: With right side facing, ch 3, skip next dc, sl st in last dc, working in sps between rows along other edge, [3 hdc in next sp, sl st in next sp] across, ending with 3 hdc between Row 1 and Row 2, sl st in base ch of Row 1. Fasten off.
