Crochet Hook: Size J-10 (6.00 mm) or size needed to obtain gauge.
Gauge: With J-hook – Rows 1-3 = 3" diameter.
JOINING WITH SC
When instructed to join with sc, begin with sl knot on hook, insert hook in st or sp indicated, yo and pull up a loop, yo and draw through both loops on hook.
Special Stitches
Shell: (2dc, tr, ch1, tr, 2dc) in same st or sp indicated.
COASTER
Rnd 1: (Right Side) With Blue, ch4, join with slst to first ch to form ring; ch3 (counts as first dc, now and throughout), 11 dc in ring; join with slst to first dc (3rd ch of ch-3). (12dc)
Rnd 2: Ch3, dc in same st as joining, [2dc in next dc] around; join as before. (24dc)
Rnd 3: Ch1, sc in same st as joining, sc in each of next 2 dc, 2sc in next dc, [sc in each of next 2 dc, 2sc in next dc] around; join with slst to first sc. (30sc) Finish off and weave in ends.
Rnd 4: With right side facing, join Red with slst to any sc, [skip next 2 sc, shell in next sc, skip next 2 sc, slst in next sc] around. (5 shells) Finish off and weave in ends.
Rnd 5: With right side facing, join White with sc over any slst (in same sc that slst was worked in on Rnd 3), *[ch1, sc in next st] 3 times, ch1, (sc, ch2, sc) in next ch-1sp, [ch1, sc in next st] 3 times, ch1, sc over next slst into same sc on Rnd 3; rep from * around, omitting last sc on final repeat; join with slst to first sc. Finish off and weave in ends.
