Size: About 6" wide and 7" long (excl. Handles and Fringe).

 

Materials: Premier® Yarns – Deborah Norville Collection – Serenity® Chunky Weight and Serenity® Baby

 

 

 

For Purse:

Bulky Weight Yarn :

Berry Burst - 50yds

Cloud Dancer - 30yds

Amparo Blue - 20yds

For Star:

Worsted Weight Yarn :

White - 8yds

Additional Materials: Yarn Needle.

Crochet Hooks:

For Purse: Deborah Norville size J-10 (6.00 mm) or size needed to obtain gauge.

For Star: Deborah Norville size I-9 (5.50 mm) or size needed to obtain gauge.

Gauge:  With J-hook - 5dc = 2"; 3 rows dc = 2".

 

JOINING WITH SC

When instructed to join with sc, begin with sl knot on hook, insert hook in st or sp indicated, yo and pull up a loop, yo and draw through both loops on hook.

 

PURSE

Row 1: (Right Side) With Red, ch15, dc in 4th ch from hook [dc in next ch] across. (13dc)

Row 2: Ch1, turn, dc in first dc, [dc in next dc] across, changing color to White in last dc. (13dc)

Row 3: With White, ch1, turn, dc in first dc, [dc in next dc] across. (13dc)

Row 4: Ch1, turn, dc in first dc, [dc in next dc] across, changing color to Red in last dc. (13dc)

Row 5: With Red, ch1, turn, dc in first dc, [dc in next dc] across. (13dc)

Rows 6-13: Rep Rows 2-5 twice.

Rows 14-15: Rep Rows 2-3.

Row 16: Ch1, turn, dc in first dc, [dc in next dc] across, changing color to Blue in last dc. (13dc)

Rows 17-19: With Blue, ch1, turn, dc in first dc, [dc in next dc] across. (13dc)

Row 20: Ch1, turn, dc in first dc, [dc in next dc] across, changing color to Red in last dc. (13dc) Finish off Blue and White and weave in ends.

 

Fold Purse in half lengthwise, matching sides of rows.

With Red, ch1, working through both thicknesses in sides of rows; 2sc in first row, [2sc in next row] across to fold. Finish off and weave in ends.

With same side facing, join Red with sc at fold row on opposite side; sc in same row, [2sc in next row] across to top of Purse, ch60 LOOSELY, slst to first sc on first side, working in the back bar of each ch, sc in each ch across. Finish off and weave in ends.

 

STAR (Make 2)

Rnd 1: (Right Side) Using WW yarn, ch2, 5sc in 2nd ch from hook; join with slst to first sc. (5sc)

Rnd 2: [Ch3, slst in 2nd ch from hook, sc in next ch, slst in next sc on Rnd1] around. Finish off leaving long end.

Using photo as guide, with right sides facing, using long end and yarn needle, sew Stars to Blue stripe on Purse.

 

FRINGE

Using Blue, cut 14 pieces 12" long. With wrong side facing, working across bottom of Purse, fold one 12" piece in half, insert crochet hook, draw folded end up through stitch and pull the loose ends through the folded end; draw the knot up tightly. Lay flat on hard surface and trim ends.
