Patriotic Beer Cozy Free Crochet Pattern

 


PATRIOTIC BEER COZY

 

Easy Skill

 

Size:

To fit 12oz beer bottle.

 

Materials: Premier® Yarns - Deborah Norville Collection – Everyday® Soft Worsted Weight and Premier® Yarns Merry – used in model.

 

 

Worsted Weight Yarn :

For each Cozy:

White – 30yds

Red – 25yds

Bulky Weight Yarn :

Merry (Blue) (CC) – 10yds

 

Abbreviations

beg - beginning

CC - contrasting color

ch - chain

dc - double crochet

hdc - half double crochet

lp(s) - loop(s)

MC - main color

rem - remaining

rep - repeat

rnd - round

sc - single crochet(s)

sp(s) - space(s)

slst(s) - slip stitch(es)

st(s) - stitch(es)

tr - treble crochet

yo - yarn over

 

Additional Materials: Yarn Needle.

Crochet Hooks:

For Cozy - Size H-8 (5.00 mm) or size needed to obtain gauge.

For Trim - Size J-10 (6.00 mm) or size needed to obtain gauge.

Gauge:

With H-hook – 6dc = 2"; 4 rows dc = 2”.

 

JOINING WITH SC

When instructed to join with sc, begin with sl knot on hook, insert hook in st or sp indicated, yo and pull up a loop, yo and draw through both loops on hook.

 

COZY

Base

Rnd 1: (Right Side) Starting at center, with White, ch4, join with slst to first ch to form ring; ch3 (counts as first dc now and throughout), 11dc in ring; join with slst to first dc (3rd ch of ch-5). (12dc)

Rnd 2: Ch3, dc in same st as joining, [2dc in next dc] around, changing color to Red in last dc; with Red, join as before. (24dc)

 

Sides

Rnd 3: With Red, ch3, [dc in next dc around, changing color to White in last dc; with White, join as before. (24dc)

Rnd 4: With White, ch3, [dc in next dc around, changing color to Red in last dc; with Red, join as before. (24dc)

Rnds 5-10: Rep Rnds 3-4 three times.

Rnd 11: Rep Rnd 3.

Rnd 12: With White, ch3, [dc in next dc around, join as before. (24dc) Finish off and weave in ends.

 

Trim

Rnd 13: With right side facing, join Merry with slst to any dc, ch3, [dc in next dc] around; join as before.

Rnd 14: Ch3, [dc in next dc around, join as before. (24dc) Finish off and weave in ends.
