FLOWERS - DAFFODIL

 

 

Easy Skill

 

Size:  About 4" circumference, 1" high.

 

 

 

 

Materials: Premier® Yarns - Deborah Norville Collection – Everyday® Soft Worsted Weight – used in model.

Worsted Weight Yarn :

For each Flower:

Baby Yellow – 5yds

Lemon – 12yds

Bittersweet – 3yds 

 

Abbreviations

beg - beginning

ch - chain

dc - double crochet

hdc - half double crochet

lp(s) - loop(s)

rem - remaining

rep - repeat

rnd - round

sc - single crochet(s)

sp(s) - space(s)

slst(s) - slip stitch(es)

st(s) - stitch(es)

tr - treble crochet

yo - yarn over

 

Additional Materials: Yarn Needle.

 

Crochet Hooks:  Size I-9 (5.50 mm) or size needed to obtain gauge.

 

Gauge:  With I-hook – 6sc = 2".

 

JOINING WITH SC

When instructed to join with sc, begin with sl knot on hook, insert hook in st or sp indicated, yo and pull up a loop, yo and draw through both loops on hook.

 

FLOWER

BASE

Rnd 1: (Right Side) Starting at center, with Baby Yellow, ch4, join with slst to first ch to form ring; ch3 (counts as first dc now and throughout), 11dc in ring; join with slst to first dc (3rd ch of ch-5). (12dc)

Rnd 2: [Slst in sp between next 2 dc, ch2, skip next 2 dc] around; join with slst to first slst. (6ch-2sps) Finish off and weave in ends.

 

PETALS

Rnd 3: With right side facing, join Lemon with slst to any sc, [(sc, dc, 2tr, ch1, 2tr, dc sc) in next ch-2sp, slst in next slst] around. (6 petals) Finish off and weave in ends.

 

CUP

Rnd 4: With right side facing, working in Rnd 1, join Lemon with sc to front lp of any dc, working in front lps only, [sc in next dc] around; join with slst to first sc. (12sc)

Rnd 5: Ch1, working in both lps, sc in same st as joining, [sc in next sc] around; join with slst to first sc. (12sc) Finish off and weave in ends.

Rnd 6: With right side facing, join Bittersweet with slst to any sc, [ch2, slst in next sc] around. (12ch-2lps) Finish off and weave in ends.
