Nascar Beer Cozy

Easy Skill

 

Size:  To fit standard size beer bottle or can.

 

Materials: Premier® Yarns – Deborah Norville Everyday® used in model.

Worsted Weight Yarn :

For each Cozy:

White – ½oz, 25yds (14g, 23m)

Black – ½oz, 25yds (14g, 23m)

Red – 5yds 

 

Abbreviations

beg - beginning

CC - contrasting color

ch - chain

dc - double crochet

lp(s) - loop(s)

MC - main color

rem - remaining

rep - repeat

rnd - round

sc - single crochet(s)

sp(s) - space(s)

slst(s) - slip stitch(es)

st(s) - stitch(es)

yo - yarn over

 

Additional Materials: Yarn Needle.

 

Crochet Hook:  Size I-9 (5.50 mm) or size needed to obtain gauge.

 

Gauge:  Rnds 1-2 = 2½".

 

JOINING WITH SC

When instructed to join with sc, begin with sl knot on hook, insert hook in st or sp indicated, yo and pull up a loop, yo and draw through both loops on hook.

 

COZY

Rnd 1: (Right Side) Starting at base, with White, ch4, slst in first ch to form ring; ch1, 12dc in ring; join with slst to first dc. (12dc)

Rnd 2: Ch1, [2dc in next dc] around; join as before. (24dc)

Rnd 3: Ch1, sc in same st as joining, sc in each of next 2 dc, changing color to Black in last sc, with Black, sc in each of next 3 dc, changing color to White in last sc, *with White sc in each of next 3 dc, changing color to Black in last sc, with Black, sc in each of next 3 dc, changing color to White in last sc; rep from * around; with White, join with slst to first sc. (24sc)

Rnd 4: Ch1, sc in same st as joining, sc in each of next 2 sc, changing color to Black in last sc, with Black, sc in each of next 3 sc, changing color to White in last sc, *with White sc in each of next 3 sc, changing color to Black in last sc, with Black, sc in each of next 3 sc, changing color to White in last sc; rep from * around; with White, join with slst to first sc. (24sc)

Rnd 5: Ch1, sc in same st as joining, sc in each of next 2 sc, changing color to Black in last sc, with Black, sc in each of next 3 sc, *changing color to White in last sc, with White sc in each of next 3 sc, changing color to Black in last sc, with Black, sc in each of next 3 sc; rep from * around; with Black, join with slst to first sc. Rnds 6-7: Ch1, sc in same st as joining, sc in each of next 2 sc, changing color to White in last sc, with White, sc in each of next 3 sc, changing color to Black in last sc, *with Black sc in each of next 3 sc, changing color to White in last sc, with White, sc in each of next 3 sc, changing color to Black in last sc; rep from * around; with Black, join with slst to first sc. Rnd 8: Ch1, sc in same st as joining, sc in each of next 2 sc, changing color to White in last sc, with White, sc in each of next 3 sc, *changing color to Black in last sc, with Black sc in each of next 3 sc, changing color to White in last sc, with White, sc in each of next 3 sc; rep from * around; with White, join with slst to first sc. Rnds 9-10: Rep Rnd 4 twice.

Rnds 11-16: Rep Rnds 5-10.

Rnd 17-20: Rep Rnds 5-8.

At end Rnd 20, finish off and weave in ends.

Rnd 21: With right side facing, join Red with sc to any sc, [sc in next sc] around; join with slst to first sc. (24sc) Finish off and weave in ends.
