I Love Dad Hanger - Free Crochet Pattern

I Love Dad Hanger

Skill Level: Easy

 

Materials: Deborah Norville Serenity Chunky in Cloud Dancer, Deborah Norville Everyday in Cornflower and Really Red

 

Hook: J-10

Yarn needle

¼” dowel rod or bamboo skewer or small piece of wood – Approx. 10 inches long

 

Gauge: Not important

 

Background

Row 1: With White, Ch 18, sc in 2nd ch from hook and in each ch across. (17 sc)

Rows 2-19: Ch 1, turn, sc in each sc across. (17 sc)

At the end of Row 19, finish off and weave in ends.

 

Heart

Rnd 1: With Red, ch 4, sl st in first ch to form ring, ch 1, dc in ring, [ch 2, 3 dc in ring] 3 times; ch 2, 2 dc in ring, join with sl st to first dc. (12 dc)

Rnd 2: Sl st in ch-1 sp, [skip next dc, 7 dc in next dc, sl st in next ch-2 sp] twice; finish off leaving long end.

 

Letters

Note: Use 2 strands of Blue worsted weight yarn.

 

Letter I – Leaving long end on starting chain, ch 6, finish off leaving long end.

 

Letter D (make 2) – Leaving long end on starting chain, ch 18, join with sl st to first chain, finish off leaving long end.

 

Letter A - Leaving long end on starting chain, ch 10, tr in 7th ch from hook, ch 3, finish off leaving long end.

 

Using photo as a guide, glue or sew the letters and heart onto the background. Weave a skewer or dowel rod through the top of the background. Using blue, ch 50 (approximately 15 inches long), leaving a long tail at each end. Tie this chain to the ends of the dowel rod and unravel the long ends.
