Size: About 30 x 38½ inches. (63 Blocks)

Materials:Worsted Weight Yarn:
Light Blue - 18 oz;
Yellow - 12 oz;
Brown - 5 oz;
Green - 2 oz;
Dark Blue - 2 oz;
Orange - 1 oz.

Crochet Hook:Size D-3 (3.25 mm) or size needed to obtain gauge.

Gauge:Each block measures 4 inches square.

JOINING WITH SC
When instructed to join with sc, begin with sl knot on hook, insert hook in st or sp indicated, yo and pull up a loop, yo and draw through both loops on hook.

Blue Block(Make 31)
Row 1:(Right Side) Starting at lower edge, with Light Blue, ch 25, dc in 4th ch from hook, (dc in next ch) across (23 dc counting turning ch as first dc).
Row 2:Ch 3 (counts as first dc now and throughout), turn, dc in next 2 dc, ch 1, skip next dc, dc in next dc, ch 1, skip next dc, dc in next 11 dc, ch 1, skip next dc, dc in next dc, ch 1, skip next dc, dc in next 3 dc.
Row 3:Ch 3, turn, working in back loops only, dc in next 2 dc, ch 1, skip ch-1, dc in next dc, ch 1, skip ch-1, dc in next 11 dc, ch 1, skip ch-1, dc in next dc, ch 1, skip ch-1, dc in next 3 dc.
Row 4:Ch 3, turn, working in front loops only, dc in next 2 dc, dc in next ch-1 sp, dc in next dc, dc in next ch-1 sp, dc in next 11 dc, dc in next ch-1 sp, dc in next dc, dc in next ch-1 sp, dc in each of next 3 dc.
Row 5:Ch 3, turn, working in back loops only, (dc in next dc) across.
Row 6:Ch 3, turn, working in front loops only, (dc in next dc) across.
Row 7:Rep Row 5.
Rows 8-9:Rep Rows 2-3.
Row 10:Rep Row 4. Finish off and weave in ends.

Blue Block Border
Rnd 1:
With right side facing, join Green with sc to any corner, 2 sc in same st, sc evenly around Block, working 3 sc in each corner; join with sl st to first sc. Finish off and weave in ends.

Repeat for all Blue Blocks.

Yellow Block(Make 32)
Row 1:(Right Side) Starting at lower edge, with Yellow, ch 25, dc in 4th ch from hook, (dc in next ch) across (23 dc counting turning ch as first dc).
Row 2:Ch 3 (counts as first dc now and throughout), turn, dc in next 2 dc, * ch 1, skip next dc, dc in next dc; rep from * 9 times, dc in next 2 dc.
Rows 3-9:Ch 3, turn, dc in next 2 dc, * ch 1, skip ch-1 sp, dc in next dc; rep from * 9 times, dc in next 2 dc.
Row 10:Ch 3, turn, dc in next 2 dc, * dc in next ch, dc in next dc; rep from * 9 times, dc in next 2 dc. (23 dc) DO NOT FINISH OFF.

Yellow Block Border
Rnd 1:
Ch 1, turn, 3 sc in first dc, sc evenly around block, working 3 sc in each corner; join with sl st to first sc. Finish off and weave in ends.

Repeat for all Yellow Blocks.

- Arrange Blocks alternately in 9 rows of 7 blocks per row, with Yellow Block in each corner.

- With wrong sides facing, whipstitch blocks together, picking up only the top (back) loop of sc Border.

Afghan Edging
Rnd 1:
With right side facing, join Yellow with sc to any corner, ch 3, sc in same corner, * ch 3, skip 3 sc, sc in next sc; rep from * around afghan, working (sc, ch 3, sc) in each corner; join with sl st to first sc. Finish off and weave in ends.
Rnd 2:With right side facing, join Light Blue with sl st to corner ch-3 sp, ch 3, 4 dc in same corner sp, * ch 1, 3dc in next sp; rep from * around, working 5 dc in each corner sp; join with sl st to first dc.
Rnd 3:Ch 1, sc in each dc and ch-1 sp around, working 3 sc in center dc at corners; join with sl st to first sc. Finish off and weave in ends.

POTTED PLANTS (Make 31)

Flower Pot
Row 1:
(Right Side) Starting at base, with Brown, ch 6, sc in 2nd ch from hook, (sc in next ch) across.
Row 2:Ch 1, turn, sc in each sc across.
Rows 3-4:Ch 1, turn, 2 sc in first sc, (sc in next sc) across to last sc, 2 sc in last sc.
Row 5:Ch 1, turn, sc in each sc across. Finish off and weave in ends.

Leaf
Row 1:
With Green, ch 14, turn, sl st in 2nd ch from hook, sc in next 2 ch, dc in next 2 ch, tr in next 3 ch, dc in next 3 ch, sc in next ch, sl st in last ch; ch 7 (for Stem). Finish off and weave in ends.

Flower
Rnd 1:
(Right Side) Starting at center, with Dark Blue, ch 2, 7 sc in 2nd ch from hook. DO NOT JOIN. MARK BEG OF EACH ROUND.
Rnd 2:2 sc in each sc around.
Rnd 3:* Sc in next 2 sc, 2 sc in next sc; rep from * around; sl st in next sc. Finish off and weave in ends.

- Using yarn needle and Orange, satin stitch centers of each Flower. Finish off and weave in ends.

Assembly

For each Blue Block, appliqué a Potted Plant:

- Sew Flower Pot at center of Block, just above dc row.

- Sew Leaf in place, turning stem upwards.

- Sew Flower to top of Stem.
