GIANT DAISY

Size
: Varies depending upon yarn and hook size

Materials: This pattern can be worked in any thread or yarn. Thread or fine yarn will produce smaller flowers; thicker yarns will produce larger flowers. Yardage will vary depending on the material used.

We used Yellow for the center and White for the petals.

Crochet Hook: Hook size will vary depending on the yarn chosen for the project.

In the video, we used worsted weight cotton yarn and a size H-8 hook.

 

Abbreviation

ch - chain

sc - single crochet

dc - double crochet

lp - loop

sl st - slip stitch

st - stitch

yo – yarn over

 

STITCH GUIDE

TREBLE CROCHET (abbreviated tr) - YO twice, insert hook in st or sp indicated, YO and pull up a loop (4loops on hook), (YO and draw through 2 loops on hook) 3 times.

PICOT - Ch 3, slip st in top of last st made.

 

DAISY

Rnd 1: (Right side): With Yellow, ch 2, 8 sc in second ch from hook; join with slip st to first sc.

Note: Loop a short piece of yarn around any stitch to mark Rnd 1 as right side.

Rnd 2: Ch 1, 2 sc in same st as joining and in each sc around; join with slip st to first sc, finish off: 16 sc.

Rnd 3: With right side facing, join White with slip st in any sc; ch 3, (tr, work Picot, ch 3, slip st) in same st (first Petal made), slip st in next sc, * (slip st, ch 3, tr, work Picot, ch 3, slip st) in next st (Petal made), slip st in next st; repeat from * around; do not join: 8 Petals.

Rnd 4: * Ch 4, keeping ch behind Petal, slip st in sp between next 2 Petals; repeat from * around; do not join: 8 ch-4 sps.

Rnd 5: *Slip st in next ch-4 sp, (ch 3, tr, work Picot, ch 3, slip st) twice in same sp (2 Petals made); repeat from* around; join with a sl st, finish off and weave in ends:
16 Petals.
