Flowers in the Mist Hat

Easy Skill

Size: Small, Medium, Large. Pattern is written for small size with directions for medium and large in parentheses.

Materials:
Bulky Weight Yarn; 2.25 oz, 60 yds (64 g, 55 m)
Mary Maxim's "Flowers"' 1.25 oz, 30 yds(35.5 g, 27.5 m)
Model was made with Mary Maxim's Titan bulky weight yarn in "Light Grey", and Mary Maxim's Flowers in "Purple/Blue."

Crochet Hook: Size K-10.5 (6.50 mm) or size needed to obtain gauge.

Gauge: 6 dc (approx) and 4 dc rows = 3"

JOINING WITH SC
When instructed to join with sc, begin with sl knot on hook, insert hook in st or sp indicated, yo and pull up a loop, yo and draw through both loops on hook.
    
HAT
Rnd 1: Ch 4, sl st in 1st ch to form ring. Ch 2, working over end of starting ch and into ring, 12 [14, 16] dc in ring, join with sl st to first dc. JOIN ALL RNDS IN THIS MANNER, DO NOT TURN. (12, 14, 16 dc)
Rnd 2: Ch 2, 2 dc in each dc around, join with sl st to first dc. (24, 28, 32 dc)
Rnd 3: Ch 2, 2 dc in 1st dc, dc in next dc, (2 dc in next dc, dc in next dc) 11 times, join. (36, 40, 44 dc)
Rnd 4-7: Ch 2, dc in 1st dc, dc in next dc around, finish off. (36, 40, 44 dc)
Rnd 8: Join CC with sc in any dc, sc in next dc around, ch 1. (36, 40, 44 sc)
Rnd 9: Sc in next sc around, finish off.
(36, 40, 44 sc)
Rnd 10: Join MC with sl st in any sc, ch 2, dc in same sc as joining, dc in each sc around, finish off. (36, 40, 44 dc)
Note: For a small child's size hat, stop here and weave in ends.
Rnd 11: Join CC with sc in any dc, sc in next dc around, ch 1. (36, 40, 44 sc)
Rnd 12: Sc in next sc around, finish off.
(36, 40, 44 sc)
Rnd 13: Join MC with sl st in any sc, ch 2, dc in same sc as joining, dc in each sc around, finish off. (36 dc, 40, 44)
Rnd 14: Join CC with sc in any dc, sc in next dc around, ch 1. (36, 40, 44 sc)
Rnd 15: Sc in next sc around, finish off.
