Father's Day – Football Coaster

Easy Skill

 

Size:  Finished size – 4" wide by 5" long.

 

Materials: Premier® Yarns – Macra-Made used in model.

Super Bulky Weight Yarn :

For each Coaster:

Brown Macra-Made – 1½oz, 16yds (43g, 15m)

White Macra-Made – 24" long (for laces).

 

Abbreviations

beg - beginning

ch - chain

hdc - half double crochet

lp(s) - loop(s)

rem - remaining

rep - repeat

rnd - round

sc - single crochet(s)

sp(s) - space(s)

slst(s) - slip stitch(es)

st(s) - stitch(es)

yo - yarn over

 

Additional Materials: Yarn Needle.

 

Crochet Hook:  Size L-11 (8.00 mm) or size needed to obtain gauge.

 

Gauge: Not Important.

 

Special Stitches

Single crochet decrease (sc dec): Insert hook in next stitch, yo, pull up a loop, (two loops on hook), insert hook in next stitch, yo, pull up a loop, yo, draw through all three loops on hook.

 

COASTER

Row 1: (Right Side) With Brown, ch3, (sc, hdc) in 3rd ch from hook (skipped ch count as first hdc). (3sts)

Row 2: Ch1, turn, (hdc, sc) in first hdc, sc in next sc, (sc, hdc) in last hdc. (5sts)

Row 3: Ch1, turn, (hdc, sc) in first hdc, sc in each of next 3 sc, (sc, hdc) in last hdc. (7sts)

Rows 4-7: Ch1, turn, sc in each st across. (7sc)

Row 8: Ch1, turn, scdec (using first 2 sc), sc in each of next 3 sc, scdec. (5sc)

Row 9: Ch1, turn, scdec (using first 2 sc), sc in next sc, scdec. (3sc)

Row 10: Ch1, turn, insert hook in first sc and draw up lp, [insert hook in next sc and draw up lp] twice, yo, pull through all 4 lps on hook. (1sc) DO NOT FINISH OFF.

 

Edging Rnd: Ch1, turn, slst evenly around coaster; join with slst to first slst. Finish off and weave in ends.

 

Finishing – use photo as guide

Using White Macra-Made and yarn needle, embroider football laces.
