CABBAGE ROSE

 

Skill Level - Easy
 
Size: Varies depending upon yarn and hook size

Materials: This pattern can be worked in any thread or yarn. Thread or fine yarn will produce smaller flowers; thicker yarns will produce larger flowers. Yardage will vary depending on the material used.


Crochet Hook: Hook size will vary depending on the yarn chosen for the project.

In the video, we used worsted weight cotton yarn and a size H-8 hook.

ch - chain
sc - single crochet
dc - double crochet
lp - loop
sl st - slip stitch
st - stitch
yo – yarn over
 
STITCH GUIDE
BEGINNING CLUSTER (uses one sp):
Ch 4, * YO twice, insert hook in sp indicated, YO and pull up a loop, (YO and draw through 2 loops on hook) twice; repeat from * 2 times more, YO and draw through all 4 loops on hook.

CLUSTER (uses one sp):
* YO twice, insert hook in sp indicated, YO and pull up a loop, (YO and draw through 2 loops on hook) twice; repeat from * 3 times more, YO and draw through ailS loops on hook.
 
CABBAGE ROSE
With Petal Color, ch 4; join with slip st to form a ring.

Rnd 1: (Right side):Ch 1, (sc in ring, ch 3) 8 times; join with slip st to first sc: 8 ch-3 sps. Note: Loop a short piece of yarn around any stitch to mark Rnd 1 as right side.

Rnd 2: (Sc, 5 dc, sc, slip st) in each ch-3 sp around; do not join: 8 Petals.

Rnd 3: * Ch 6, keeping ch behind Petal, slip st around last slip st of next Petal; repeat from * around; do not join: 8 ch-5 sps.

Rnd 4: (Sc, 5 dc, sc, slip st) in each ch-5 sp around; do not join: 8 Petals.

Rnd 5: * Ch 6, keeping ch behind Petal, slip st around last slip st of next Petal; repeat from* around; do not join, finish off and weave in ends: 8 ch-6 sps.

Rod 6: With right side facing, join Green with slip st in any ch-6 sp; work (beginning Cluster, ch 5, Cluster) in same sp, ch 5, (sc, ch 2, sc) in next ch-6 sp, ch 5, *work (Cluster, ch 5) twice in next ch-6 sp, (sc, ch 2, sc) in next ch-6 sp, ch 5; repeat from* 2 times more; join with slip st to top of beginning Cluster, finish off and weave in ends : 16 sps.
