Bunny Egg Critter - Free Crochet Pattern

Easy Skill

Size:About 3" Tall

Materials:  Sport Weight Yarn or Worsted Weight Yarn.

Small amounts of White (W), Pink (P), Orange (O) and Green (G) worsted weight yarn; Two 8-mm moveable eyes. Pompoms; 1" White and 4mm pink, 2-1/2" Plastic Egg, Glue, Yarn Needle.

Crochet Hook:Size F or size needed for gauge.

Gauge:Rnds 1-2 = 2"

 

beg - beginning

ch - chain

dc - double crochet(s)

hdc - half double crochet(s)

rnd(s) - round(s)

sc -  single crochet(s)

sl st(s) - slip stitch(es)

sp - space

st(s) - stitch(es)

tr - treble crochet

 

Rnd 1:With W, ch 4, sl st in 4th ch to form ring, ch 3 (counts as dc), 11 dc in ring; join with sl st 3rd ch of beg ch-3. (12 dc)

Rnd 2:Ch 3, dc in same st as joining, 2 dc in next st, dc in next st,

(2 dc in next 2 sts, dc in next st) 3 times; join. (20 dc)

Rnds 3-6:Ch 3, dc in each st around; join.

Rnd 7:Ch 1, sc in same st as joining, draw up a loop in each of next 2 sts, YO and draw through 3 lps on hook (sc dec made), (sc in next

5 sts, sc dec) twice, sc in last 3 sts; join with sl st in first sc. Finish off and weave in ends. (17 sc)

Place egg inside of Body small end first.

 

(Make 2)

Rnd 1(right side): With P, ch 5, sl st in 2nd ch from hook and in each ch across. Finish off.

Rnd 2:Right Side Facing and working in unused lps of starting ch, join W in first ch, ch 2, hdc in next 3 lps, (3 hdc, ch 1, 3 hdc) in end, around other side, hdc in next 4 sts, sc in end; join with sl st in 2ndch of beg ch-2. Finish off leaving long end.

Using long end sew ears to top of egg using photo as a guide.

 

(Make 2)

With W, ch 8, 3 sc in 2nd ch from hook, sc in next 5 ch, 3 sc in last ch, around other side, sc in next 5 ch, join with sl st in first sc. Finish off leaving long end.

Using long ends, sew arms to side of body.

 

With W, ch 1 (center ch), (ch 2, tr, ch 2, sl st) twice in center ch. Finish off and weave in ends. 

 

With Orange, ch 6, 3 sc in 2nd ch from hook (carrot top), sc in next

2 ch, sl st in next ch, (sl st, ch 1, sl st) in last ch, around other side,

sl st in next ch, sc in next ch, join with sl st in first sc. Finish off and weave in ends.

 

Join G in center Sc of carrot top, (Ch 10, sl st in same st) twice.  Finish off and weave in ends.

Sew or glue Carrot to ends of arms. 

Glue Mustache, Small Pompom and Eyes to Body using photo as a guide.

Glue Large pompom to lower back of Bunny.
