Ingredients:
1 pound ground turkey (substitute: steamed broccoli, cauliflower &
mushrooms for vegetarians)
1 large onion -- chopped
2 cloves garlic -- minced
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon pepper
1 teaspoon oregano, basil, parsley
1/2 teaspoon tarragon
1 can tomato sauce
1 Can diced tomatoes
1 package lasagna noodles
1 package shredded mozzarella cheese (8 oz)
6 ounces cottage cheese
1/2 cup grated parmesan cheese
Cook Beef with onions and garlic. Stir in salt, pepper, spices,
tomatoes and sauce Bring to boil; lower heat; simmer 15 minutes.
While sauce is cooking, cook Lasagna (add a little oil to water)
Drain and rinse in cold water.
Butter a 13 x 9 x 2-inch baking dish.
Fill dish with alternate layers of Noodles, Mozzarella and Cottage
Cheeses, Tomato-meat sauce and Parmesan cheese, ending with a
layer of sauce and parmesan.
Bake in moderate oven (375 degrees) for 1 hour, or until bubbly.
Lasagna may be assembled ahead of time, refrigerated, and baked at
serving time.
For Vegetarian Lasagna, substitute Meat with steamed Broccoli,
Cauliflower and Mushrooms. |
