“No one knows
for sure how or where the Tooth Fairy comes from. I remember the Tooth Fairy
from when I was a child; I’d loose a tooth, stick it under my pillow and try
to stay up all night to get a glimpse of the Tooth Fairy, but always fell
asleep and never could figure out who she was.
This legend is the most common Tooth Fairy
story to date. The tooth fairy comes when a child has lost a tooth.
Commonly, she is very small, and she comes in the middle of the night. The
child is to leave the tooth under his/her pillow, so that the tooth fairy
can take it during her visit. Once she has taken the tooth, she leaves
monetary reimbursement under the child’s pillow, anything from fifty cents
to a couple of dollars. The teeth are then taken to her tower, and used for
her purposes.”
