Beginner Skill
Size: Fits any size baby hat.
Materials:
Small amount White (W) Size 3 Crochet Thread; Baby Hat; Awl (available at any hardware store); Cork Board; Fabric Marking Pen; Yarn Needle.
Aunt Lydia’s Fashion 3 Thread was used in model.
Crochet Hook: Size E-4 (3.50 mm) or size needed to obtain gauge.
Gauge: Not important for this project.

JOINING WITH SC
When instructed to join with sc, begin with sl knot on hook, insert hook in st or sp indicated, yo and pull up a loop, yo and draw through both loops on hook.
Preparing the Hat
Working 3/8” (10mm) from the edge and using the marking pen to indicate holes, place marks ¼” (6mm) apart along brim edge of Hat, adjusting spaces if necessary to achieve the correct number of holes.
Using Cork Board under Hat to protect the work surface, perforate the fabric with an awl an even number of times.
Edging
Rnd 1:With wrong side of Hat facing, join W with sc to any hole, (ch 2, sc in next hole) around; join with hdc to 1st sc to form last ch-2 sp.
Rnd 2:Ch 4, sc in sp made by joining hdc, (ch 3,
sc in same sp) twice, * ch 3, sc in next sp, (ch 3,
sc in same sp) twice; rep from * around, ch 3; join with sl st to beg ch-4. Finish off and weave in ends.
