PB007 Baby Bug & Toys

Just think how much fun you'll have crocheting the whole collection, especially the Mamma Lady Bug and her babies. Momma Lady Bug has magnets hidden below her spots so that her babies can attach with their magnets to her back. Enjoy the adventure of crocheting these precious creatures: Lady Bug, Babies, Dragonfly, Butterfly, Flowers, Snail and Sun.

Design sample was made using Bernat Baby Softee yarns and size H crochet hook.

You get crochet instructions to make a lady bugs, sun, dragonfly, large flower, snail, butterfly and small flower. The largest is 5 inches across and the smallest 4 inches across.  Great to decorate a baby’s room, hang from a mobile or as car seat toys. Momma is 6 inches X 7-12 inches Each Baby is 2-12 inches X 3-12 inches.  The baby lady bugs attached to the momma lady bug with the use of th Magnets that are securely sewn under the spots.

Additional Materials:

Yarn needle; Embroidery thread and needle (or fabric paint); Invisible thread and needle, Fiberfill; 16 Magnets - ¾” (19 mm) round.

Note about Magnets:

The magnets found in most craft shops are not strong enough for this project. You need magnets that can attract through two layers of crochet material. We recommend House-Mates (HM) Hardware ¾ inch disc magnets found at both Home Depot and Lowe’s in the screw/nut/bolt aisle.

Crochet Hook: Size E-4 (3.50 mm) or size needed to obtain gauge.

Gauge: 5 hdc = 1”, 4 rows hdc = 1”
