Small amount Fiberfill or stuffing
Crochet Hook:Size G-6 (4.00 mm) or size needed to obtain gauge.

CAN COVER
Rnd 1:(Right Side) Starting at the center bottom, using B, ch 1 (center ch), ch 3 (counts as first dc now and throughout), 11 dc in center ch; join with sl st to first dc. (12 dc)
DO NOT TURN EACH ROUND.
Rnd 2:Ch 3, 2 dc in each dc around; join. (24 dc)
Rnd 3:Ch 3, 2 dc in next dc, (dc in next dc, 2 dc in next dc) around; join. (36 dc)
Rnd 4:Ch 3, dc in next dc, 2 dc in next dc, (dc in next 2 dc, 2 dc in next dc) around; join. (48 dc)
Rnd 5:Ch 3, dc in next 2 dc, 2 dc in next dc, (dc in next 3 dc, 2 dc in next dc) around; join. (60 dc)
Rnd 6:Ch 3, working in back loops only, dc in each dc around; join.
Rnds 7-16:Ch 3, working in both loops, dc in each dc around; join.
Rnd 17:Rep Rnd 6.
Rnd 18:Rep Rnd 7. Finish off and weave in ends.
Lace Border
Rnd 1:With right side facing and open end towards you, working in unused lps of Rnd 17, join W with
sl st to any lp, ch 4 (counts as first dc and ch 1 now and throughout), * skip next lp, dc in next lp, ch 1; rep from * around; join. (30 dc)
Rnd 2:Ch 1, sc in same st as joining, ch 1, (dc, ch 2, dc) in next dc, ch 1, * sc in next dc, ch 1, (dc, ch 2, dc) in next dc, ch 1; rep from * around; join with sl st to first sc. (15 ch-2 sps)
Rnd 3:Ch 1, sc in same st as joining, [(dc, picot) 3 times, dc] in next ch-2 sp, * sc in next sc, [(dc, picot) 3 times, dc] in next ch-2 sp; rep from * around; join. (15 shells) Finish off and weave in ends.
Drawstrings
With W, ch 125. Finish off and weave in ends.
With B, ch 100. Finish off and weave in ends.
Finishing
- Slip cover over Coffee Can.
- Weave W drawstring through Rnd 1 of Lace Border and tie in bow at center front.
- Weave B drawstring though Rnd 18 of Can Cover and tie ends together.
LID COVER
Bottom of Cover
Rnds 1-5:Rep Rnds 1-5 of Can Cover.
At the end of Rnd 5, finish off and weave in ends.
Top of Cover Flower Center
Rnd 1:Starting at center, with W, rep Rnd 1 of Can Cover. DO NOT TURN.
Rnd 2:Working in front loops only, ch 3, dc in each dc around; join. Finish off leaving 18” long end.
- Weave long end through tops of each dc of Rnd 2 and pull tight to gather, stuffing cavity. Finish off and weave in ends.
Flower Petals
Rnd 1:With right side facing, working in unused lps of Flower Center Rnd 1, join W with sc to any lp, (5 dc, sc) in same lp as joining, [skip next lp, (sc, 5 dc, sc) in next lp] around; join with sl st to first sc. (6 petals)
DO NOT TURN EACH ROUND.
Rnd 2:Working behind petals, (ch 4, sl st in space between next 2 petals) around. (6 ch-4 lps)
Rnd 3:Ch 1, [(sc, 9 dc, sc) in next ch-4 lp] around; join.
Rnd 4:Working behind petals, (ch 6, sl st in space between next 2 petals) around. (6 ch-6 lps) Finish off W and weave in ends.
Lid Cover
Rnd 1:With right side facing, join B with sl st to any ch-6 lp of Flower Petals Rnd 4, ch 3, 7 dc in same sp, (8 dc in next ch-6 lp) around; join. (48 dc)
Rnd 2:Rep Rnd 5 of Can Cover. DO NOT FINISH OFF.
- Cut rim off Plastic Lid.
Rnd 3: - With right sides facing (wrong sides together) of Lid Cover and Bottom of Cover, place Plastic Lid between pieces, working through both thicknesses, matching stitches, ch 1, (sc in next dc) around, enclosing plastic lid; join. Finish off and weave in ends.
